Finally Getting Back To It

The past week has been really busy and then not so busy.... I had a couple of old friends come into town, so I spent some time with them.... and then I got sick. So I've been pretty tied up in one way or another. Yesterday, I finally got back into a rhythm. Got a ton of yardwork done, and then managed to get some grocery shopping done. I must admit that I am woefully behind on my coupon clipping, however, I did manage to get some pretty good deals yesterday, thanks to Publix Store Coupons combined with their sales and a few manufacturers coupons. So, here is what I picked up there:

2 12 Pack Angel Soft Double Roll Toilet Tissue
2 Skintimate Shave Gels (20% More Bonus Size)
4 Yoplait Greek Yogurt (I usually get my Greek Yogurt at Aldi for .89, but coupons doubled at Publix made these .75 each even without a sale price)
1 Bic Soleil Razor (+2 Bonus Pack)
2 16 oz Kraft Cheese

Spent: $24.86
Saved: $23.09 or 48%

And, actually, I saved an additional .54 in sales tax thanks to $6 worth of Publix Store Coupons, because for some reason that I do not understand, sales tax is NOT charged on the the portion of the products covered by Store Coupons. I don't understand why not, but I'll take it!

  1. I've noticed that some items don't charge tax. I think some produce or food items? I don't keep really good track of my food tax, but I'll take any breaks they're willing to give.

  2. In Alabama, sales tax is charged on all food items --- and I'm not sure why Store Coupons are treated differently than Manufacturer Coupons, but they are. It is a weird system.
