Shopping Outside the Norm

This week's grocery shopping is completely different from what is normal for me. To start, I hadn't been to the store in almost two weeks. Add in that I had to get a TON of stuff for the hospitality room for the basketball tournament (since we had VERY LITTLE parent response). I didn't have time to price compare, so I went to Aldi to pick up what I needed --- I knew I could get in and out of there relatively quickly and since most of the stuff I was buying wasn't matching up to the grocery flyers, I also knew that I would likely spend a lot less. So this is what I bought:

3 cans kidney beans
6 cans Tomato Sauce
3 cans Diced Tomatoes
6 blocks Cream Cheese (on sale for .89 -- stock up time for me!)
2 boxes wheat thin crackers
1 Pomegranate
Ground Beef
3 Bell Peppers
1 Cinnamon Swirl Quick Bread Mix
2 Bags Rolls
2 Sliced Mozzerella
Sugar Cookie Dough
Alfredo Sauce
Chocolate Frosting
Shredded Cheddar
1 lb Sliced Ham
Corn Chips
Chili Powder
2 lbs butter
Coffee Creamer
Sour Cream
3 Zucchini
2 lbs. Macaroni
2 Bags Baby Carrots
1 Bunch of Flowers

Spent $69.66

  1. Aldi is definitely the place to shop, when you do not have time to do price comparisons and use coupons. I got a lot of stuff for my sons' school at Aldi this week.

Thank you for linking up at the Aldi Savings Linky at the Aldi Spot.

  2. Wow, even for that much stuff, you got a great price. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get much of a parent response, that truly sucks. But you're sticking to your responsibilities, so hopefully that will be recognized after all is said and done. Shame on those parents!

  3. That is fabulous. And I am with Tanner - shame on those other parents and good for you!!!

  4. Wow, that is really cheap! You were smart to go to Aldi. The Aldi's around us isn't that great..and it's out of the way. I wish I had one like yours!

  5. My Aldi and my Publix are right across the street from each other so it is easy to choose one or both as time and circumstances allow. I was a little leery at first of all of their "brands", but so far, they haven't let me down. I've been so swamped the past couple of weeks that I haven't even looked at a grocery flyer except to skim it, and I certainly haven't clipped coupons! I can find just about every basic thing I need there --- PLUS its small which means I can get in and out of there FAST!
