But we're not halfway there....

I am a child of the 80's. Spent my highschool days listening to Duran Duran, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, with some Modern English and Psychedelic Furs thrown in there. The soundtrack to my youth makes me happy.

So, last year, for the big 4-0, my family wanted to throw me a big party. Um.... no. When you're turning 40 and you're single... the last thing you want to do is be put on display.

Enter Princess Penelope and her brilliant ideas. Bon Jovi was on tour with The Circle and they were playing in Atlanta...so Penelope suggested that instead of throwing me a party, why doesn't everyone chip in to get me tickets and a hotel room in Atlanta for the concert. I've always wanted to see Bon Jovi and never had. Yes, my child is brilliant! And yes, she got to go with me! We had the BEST time! Hands down, the best live show I've ever seen. The PERFECT present.

My whole point in all of this is.... today Bon Jovi announced their upcoming tour dates. Yes, they are playing in Atlanta again....yes, I want to go....but, we aren't THERE yet, we aren't even halfway there yet. So, no, I won't be going. sigh.

  3. I'll have to remember that in a few years :) I had my bedroom walls PLASTERED with Bop magazine pictures of Bon Jovi growing up. LOL...I even cut my hair like Nancy Wilson's when Heart was popular and one side of her head was shaved and the rest was long!

  4. Bon Jovi and Duran Duran all over my walls -- my mom used to say she hated going in my room because all those eyes on the wall were kind of creepy. Penelope is all twilight all over the walls, but it doesn't bother me really because hey, apples....trees....
