A New Skill.....

Last month, a group of us had our first Supper Club get together --- it was a fun night, everyone contributed something to the meal and we just all had ball. One of the members brought her specialty --- homemade bread. Wow. I was in heaven. Absolute heaven. I told the very talented baker how much I had always wanted to try and bake bread, but my few attempts had been less than stellar. She said that it was really easy, and she would love to show me sometime.

Today was sometime. She sent me a text this morning that said she was planning on baking bread this afternoon and would I like to come over and learn? Well, she didn't have to ask me twice! I went over there this afternoon and she walked me through, step by step, both of us making it at the same time. She answered all of my questions and we had a great time. When we were done, we each had a loaf to go with dinner and I had learned something new! Her loaf was gorgeously perfect. Mine did kind of look like a baseball bat once it baked up, but that's okay, because it was the most delicious baseball bat I'd ever had!

But as for the bread going with dinner part.... well, I kind of skipped dinner and just enjoyed the bread!
