$6.35 --- I still have that $6.35 in my grocery budget. And the goal is in sight!
Last night, as I was eating a hamburger left over from 4th of July, I wondered to myself why I was so fixated on the $6.35 I have left in this month's grocery budget. Quite honestly, I have exceeded my grocery budget SO many times in recent months, so why is it such a big deal THIS month?
I thought about it and I think I am so focused on it because:
1. I paid close attention to the numbers throughout the month, so I knew where I stood.
2. With factors such as Princess Penelope out of town, and my own work travel schedule, this is DOABLE!
3. I need a psychological win --- yes, paid off CC#1 last month, but with the really LARGE CC#2 looming, I'm more weary that pumped up. I need a quick win to keep me going.
4. I'm tired of my grocery budget being a number that is essentially meaningless or rather more a target than something I actually stick to!
So, The month ends on Sunday --- that still gives me time to take advantage of the really good Publix sales that will start tomorrow and contribute that to August's food budget.
I can do this, I can do this, I can do this!
You can do it!
