It is late August and it is dry, dry, dry here.... unless of course you count the humidity! But for the ground.... just bone dry. My house has received exactly one rain shower since the beginning of August and that was last weekend. My plants are NOT happy! And the forecast for the next week shows no rain.
I got a rain barrel for my birthday, but I'm doing something wrong, because while its full of water, I can't seem to get the water to flow out of it. So this morning, before the heat starts approaching the 5th level of hades, I'm going to get outside and water my very thirsty plants and trees. Quite honestly, I'm less than thrilled about it, but I've got a fair amount of time, money and effort invested in my gardens and I can't just watch them wither into dust. They need some TLC.
I'm going to HATE seeing this reflected in my water bill next month. But, sometimes you have to do what you have to do.
So, if you need me, I'll be in the garden.
We have some rain here.....LOL

ReplyDeleteIt's very dry here too but I'm enjoying it after all the rain and cloudy days in PEI. Though I don't like all the hot flashes I'm having due to the heat and humidity. What a trade-off!!
